Start from Dashland World 1 and pick Normal Mode for a run that counts toward progression, or Practice Mode to learn the layout first. Toxic Factory unlocks only after all five Dashland levels are cleared in Normal Mode.

What's Geometry Dash World game?
Geometry Dash World is a free browser spin-off developed by RobTop Games, released in December 2016 as part of the series update 2.1. It runs on the same core mechanic as the rest of the series: your icon auto-scrolls through each stage to an electronic soundtrack, every obstacle is placed on the beat, and one wrong move sends you back to 0% with no second chance in Normal Mode. The level count is smaller than other free versions at just 10 stages, but what this release adds that others do not is a full progression system sitting alongside the level set: daily quests, diamonds, and two hidden vaults with rewards tied to long-term play.
The 10 levels split into two worlds. Dashland comes first with five neon-lit stages of increasing difficulty. Toxic Factory, the second world, only becomes available once you have cleared all five Dashland levels in Normal Mode. Its five stages are harder by design, with faster speed portals and more demanding form changes throughout.
Controls on PC and mobile
On PC, SPACE, ↑, or a left-click handles everything. Tap to jump in cube sections; hold to fly up and release to drop in ship segments. P pauses the run and Backspace restarts instantly without going through menus. In Practice Mode, Z drops a checkpoint wherever you are standing and X removes the last one placed.
On mobile and tablet, a tap anywhere on screen jumps, and a tap-and-hold handles ship sections. The pause icon sits in the top-right corner; restart is inside the pause menu. One thing that helps regardless of device: the soundtrack is not just background audio. Speed portals and gravity flips are timed to the music, so players who listen as closely as they watch tend to react earlier.
Normal Mode versus Practice Mode
Only Normal Mode runs count. A percentage tracker shows where you are in the level, but there are no built-in checkpoints, and any collision resets progress to the very beginning. Getting to 100% in Normal Mode is the only path to level completion, reward collection, and Toxic Factory access.
Practice Mode exists for preparation, not for scoring. Place a checkpoint with Z just before any section that is ending your Normal Mode runs, crash through it until the pattern becomes predictable, then remove it with X and extend how far back you approach from. Working through a level in Practice first cuts down how many Normal Mode attempts are needed to actually clear it.
The 10 levels in detail
Dashland opens gently. Payload and Beast Mode sit at two-star difficulty and focus on jump timing and reading basic obstacles. The remaining three stages, Machina, Years, and Frontlines, step up to three stars. Speed portals hit more often and the coins that unlock bonus rewards are tucked along alternate routes that require deliberate detours. All five tracks are by Dex Arson.
Toxic Factory has a different feel entirely. The visual palette shifts to toxic green, and the obstacle density goes up noticeably from the moment Space Pirates opens. That level introduces gravity mechanics that Dashland never uses. Monster Dance Off closes the game at level 10 and is the hardest stage in this version: high-speed stretches, frequent form changes, and multiple obstacle layers hitting simultaneously. World 2 music comes from Waterflame, F-777, and Dex Arson.
Diamonds, Demon Keys, and the secret areas
Mana Orbs accumulate passively as you play levels. Every 500 Orbs converts into one Demon Key. Diamonds come from completing levels, finishing the daily quest, and opening the two daily chests that reset every 4 and 24 hours. Both currencies feed into a network of locked content that has nothing to do with the main level set.
The Treasure Room, found through the door icon in the Creator Menu, costs 5 Demon Keys to open and sells icons, rare colors, and death effects for Diamonds. The Vault of Secrets needs 50 Diamonds to enter; inside, players type secret codes to unlock exclusive icons not available anywhere else. The Chamber of Time goes deeper still: it requires finishing a hidden level inside the Vault of Secrets and then spending 1,000 Mana Orbs on the Master Emblem from the Secret Shop before the door opens.
Daily quests and gauntlets
The daily quest resets every 24 hours and is the most reliable way to keep diamonds coming in without grinding levels repeatedly. This system only exists in Geometry Dash World and the paid full version, which makes it a meaningful difference between this release and the other free options. Gauntlets are themed batches of five community-made levels. Clearing the Fire, Ice, or Space Gauntlet awards Shards and Diamonds on top of the normal level rewards.
How it fits alongside the other free versions
Geometry Dash Lite has the largest level count of any free version at 19, but no daily progression or secret vaults. SubZero is three levels with camera controls and reverse sections that none of the other versions have. Meltdown is also three levels, faster than average, and runs without ads. World sits between them in level count but is the only free version that gives you a reason to keep logging in after the levels are cleared.
